~*!*~ Kousefly Volcano Vineyards Show: Tonight!
KOUSEFLY BEGINS 2007 TOUR ON TOP OF VOLCANO
The Bend, Oregon Alternative/Pop duet, Kousefly, is set to kick off its 2007 spring/summer tour on top of Volcano Vineyards on May 17 at 7pm. That's right, Beatles and U2 style, on the roof of a small historic brick building located on Brooks Street, downtown Bend. "Definately a great advantage of being a small band is we can play our music almost anywhere you can fit our PA system, guitars, amps and two cool musicians," says Brian Hinderberger of Kousefly.
While enjoying a glass (or two) of independent wine you can expect listen to original independent rock music mixed with a few covers that have inspired their style of music, including R.E.M., The Ravonettes and Pink Floyd. The following week, Wednesday May 23rd, Kousefly is playing at the Bendistillery Martini Bar, once again on Brooks Street, downtown Bend. That show is also starting at 7pm. Both shows have no cover!
About the Band:
Kousefly is an Alternative/Folk/Pop duet, mixing the sounds of clean acoustic with psychedelic/distortion electric guitars. Amidst a smattering of rock and roll singer/songwriters with a breathy-voiced, alternative/dance crossover potential, Chris Evans' "Open-Up-Your-Mind Style" is well received his by rock 'n' roll fans, taking his audience on a journey. Amidst a haze of metaphors and headphone-splitting songs Chris' strong points are immediately apparent: hours spent practicing in his music room had outfitted the band with a rhythm section that rumbled along like a medicated locamotive and a refined vocal treatment that makes his live performances to be nothing short of blistering hot. Indie rocker, Brian Hinderberger, has cultivated a folk-tinged, emotionally-charged blues rock sound that is nothing less than inspiring an unique. Blending his back-up vocals with the catchiest of acoustic guitar riffs and an aversion to traditional rock song structures. This humble musician is not afraid to soar from melodic acoustic ballads to screeching digressions that verges only from relentless jam insanity, Brian Hinderberger strikes a balance between musical energy and expressive candor riding the high-wire of joy and melancholic purity.
